2005 - Tunisia:
Mid June and Cherie flew out again to Africa, this time to Hammamett on the Mediterranean coast of Tunisia. Although most of the time was spent relaxing in the sun she also visited the ruins of Carthage and embarked on a four day safari - visiting the Roman ruins at El Djem and the Troglodyte cave dwellings at Matmata before heading out via Douz into the sand dunes of the Sahara desert. After crossing the Chott El Jerid salt lake to Tozeur she stopped at the oases of Chebika and Tamerza before returning via the Holy City of Kairouan.

2006 - Borneo:
Once more in mid June and Cherie was winging off to another exotic destination - Kota Kinabalu in Borneo. Whilst there she visited the UNESCO World Heritage Kinabalu National Park at the foot of Mount Kinabalu - one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world - and also spent a day at the Sepilok Orang Utan centre.

2009 - Egypt and the U.S.A. :

In May Cherie decided to ‘chill out’ for a couple of weeks at Sharm El Sheikh on the southern tip of Sinai at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba. While most of the holiday was spent relaxing in the sun she had a sea trip to view the fish and corals from underwater in a local ‘submarine’ and also visited the ancient monastery of St Catherine’s built C527  BC at the foot of Mount Moses which holds a priceless collection of art, mosaics and icons.

In the autumn she was off on a tour of the U.S.A. National Parks. Arriving in Denver on 21 Sept she travelled via Cheyenne to Keystone - on the way visiting the Crazy Horse Memorial. Next a visit to Mount Rushmore then via Deadwood through the Black Hills to Lead in South Dakota - stopping on the way to visit Sylvan Lake in the Custer State Park. From Lead, via Sheridan, to Cody and the Little Bighorn and on to Yellowstone Nat Park. From there via Grand Teton Nat Park into Jackson where she went white water rafting along the Snake River. Then down to the Mormon centre of Salt Lake City and on to Bryce Canyon Nat Park, Zion National Park and Lake Powell. Next stop Page and a flight to Monument Valley and finally the Grand Canyon where she took a helicopter trip into the Canyon before arriving in Las Vegas for a flight home.
